10th Annual Campout for Veterans -
Homeless & With PTSD

4:00 PM, Friday, November 8, thru
11:00 AM Sunday, November 10, 2024
Service at 11:00 AM - November 10
Colden Veterans Memorial Park, Colden, NY 14033

Held at Colden Veterans Memorial Park for the 10th time, Mike Willibey, a disabled US Navy veteran, will embark on a 44-hour outdoor camping marathon to raise awareness and money for PTSD and homeless veterans.

According to federal estimates, a quarter of the homeless population in the United States served in the military, and a total of nearly 50,000 veterans are homeless on any given night.

US veterans with homeless histories were 7.8 times more likely to have attempted suicide than veterans with no homeless histories (24.5% vs 2.8%).

This is a fundraiser in support of the families of the over 7200 veterans who have fallen here on our shores due to suffering sustained due to their service this year alone. Since the end of the Vietnam War, we have lost more American heroes due to PTSD and depression than all foreign wars and conflicts in that period combined.

Our sincerest hope is that we can help support veterans in crisis, educate the public, and honor our heroes for their service, regardless of where they died.
